Schematics of the solar water heating system. The measurements are taken regularly with a sampling frequency of 1 Hz and stored at 1 minutes intervals.

The vacuum tubes for the water solar heating system is on the left hand side of the roof. On the right side of the roof, 32 photovoltaic panels (2,5 kW peak, copper-indium-silicium thin film made by Wurth) have been installed by Sunswitch. The solar photoivoltaic system has been switched on in January 2009.

The Eppley Laboratory, Inc. Precision Spectral Pyranometer, placed on the roof with the same angle of inclination, measures the solar irradiance.
The electric signal delivered by the pyranometer is amplified using the same electronic circuit as described in : Harrison, R.G. and Knight, J. R.(2006) Thermopile radiometer signal conditioning for surface atmospheric radiation measurements. Review of Scientific Instruments, 77, 116105.
